One of the greatest pleasures of gastronomy is the coming together of all aspect of the dining experience: great ambiance, service, food and drinks. However these kind of dining experiences are typically reserved for special occasions as they usually come with a pretty hefty price tag. Or many a times, not knowing what wines to pair with your food resulted in some awkward moments.
At The Tastings Room, we seek to make food and beverage pairing a painless experience with suggestions within the menu. Whether it is ending your meals with our exquisite selections of coffee and tea or pairing your meals with over 50 unique and interesting selections by the glass from our extensive wine list, we seek to provide new levels of experience to everyone from the novice to the connoisseur. There’s always something new to explore and we are sure your every visit will be a unique experience.
You will never see your favorite wine priced three or even four times its retail price as is typical on a restaurant wine list or ever pay exorbitant prices for sub-quality food anymore. We strongly believe that that the pursuit of gastronomy pleasures should be accessible to everybody! It is our sincere hope that you will find the comfortable atmosphere of The Tastings Room to be like that of your own home. Drink Menu Introduction
My journey with wine started with a Japanese comic series called “Les Gouttes de Dieu”. Shizuku the main character had never drank wines before but has to compete with his half brother Issei a renowned wine critic for his deceased father inheritance through finding the 12 wines described in his father’s will.
I was never a wine lover and my previous experiences drinking restaurants’ house pour were usually bad ones. I always ask my friends why anybody would want to drink wine over a real fruit juice e.g. orange juice. *Laugh* But after my friend introduced this comic to me, I was completely drawn into the plot and so excited to explore every wine that Shizuku tried in the story, trying to find that elusive wine that I will fall in love with.
Alas, in the world of wines, monogamy doesn’t apply. *Laugh* There are so many interesting wines that I like as I tasted wines from different grape varietals, regions, wineries and winemakers. I also realized that through a perfect “marriage”, i.e. pairing of food and wine, both their flavors get enhanced. How do I share this divine experience to everybody? Answer: Set up “The Tastings Room”!
At The Tastings Room, we seek to radically change the way restaurants serve and charge wines to their customers. Good quality wines don’t have to always come with a hefty price tag.
